OUR MISSION It is the mission of Basketball X-Perts to create and develop programs fostering the educational and athletic development of middle school, high school and collegiate students. Our programs nurture the capacity of student-athletes to think critically about all aspects of their lives. We help them continue to develop leadership skills, strengthen their personal responsibility, work ethic and meeting civic responsibilities. Both through basketball and otherwise, – qualities that are essential to leading productive lives.

First Annual Black HIstory Month Classis @ UMASS - Boston On Saturday February 16, 2008 the communities of Lawrence and Lynn helped Boston celebrate Black HIstory by honoring the contributions of Black, Cape Verdean and Latino coaches and athletes. - See Full Update
Second Annual Big Three vs. Boston City League Challenge @ Brockton High School
On January 27, 2008, Big 3 and BCL fans from Boston, New Bedford, Fall River and Brockton witnessed the Second Annual Basketball X-Perts Big Three vs Boston City League Challenge hosted by Brockton High School. The second installment of "The Challenge" proved to meet and exceed all the hype and buildup created last year when the City League teams swept each game. - See Full Update Showcase 2007 @ The Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center We hosted over ONE HUNDRED male and female student/athletes on Saturday September 29, 2007. The Inner-City Institute, Incorporated (the Institute) was founded to promote equity and excellence for youth and adults in selected underserved Boston communities. Though outreach efforts and special projects our mission is to bridge the great divide in critical areas related to the personal growth and development of our targeted population. By forming community partnerships the Institute will strive to serve as a catalyst for fostering positive social change. We believe that such partnerships are key to strengthening our anticipated outcomes and other opportunities for community advancements. The Founder and CEO of Inner City Institute, Tammarrah Lee, Ed.D. has an extensive professional background in community-based and public education programs. As a native of Bostonian, Dr. Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and both a Masters and Doctorate degree in Education. She has devoted her career to giving back to her community with commitment, dedication and enthusiasm to make a difference. The Institute offers programs and services in four key areas:

The Institute’s planned community partnerships include: Youth Enrichment and Adult Education Programs Recreation Centers Social Service Agencies Grassroots Organizations Higher Education Institutions We have established a special partnership with Building Healthier Lives who will work closely together to plan, develop and implement a comprehensive academic enrichment programs and services for their youth participants. By forming such partnerships we anticipate making substantial gains in strengthening youth and families that we serve.
